Alissa Scott

Alissa Scott is co-founder of Survivor Health Network. A former longtime child advocate in the social work field, she developed protocols for social workers and others who work on behalf of abused and neglected children. Alissa has served on the boards and committees of several organizations including the Maricopa County Interagency Council and the Arizona Drug Endangered Children Program. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University.

During her advocacy work, Alissa met and married Phoenix Police Officer Wayne Scott, a motorcycle patrol officer. Alissa was six months pregnant in 2002 when she was struck with unbearably tragic news. Wayne had been killed in a collision when a motor vehicle pulled in front of him as he was heading to a DUI/fatality accident.

Alissa pushed forward for her daughter, Katianna, now 4 years old. Since birth, Katianna has accompanied Alissa to survivor events and memorials honoring officers. She was Alissa’s inspiration in starting SHN.
