Dr. Sherry Harrison
Dr. Sherry Harrison had a full time private practice in Scottsdale, AZ forover 20 years, and currently has a part-time private practice. She is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychologydoctoral program at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University/Phoenix where she teaches inthe clinical and sport psychology departments. She has consulted in a number of settings including medicalclinics, in-patient behavioral health hospitals, Child Protective Services, and residential treatment centers.Within the field of sport psychology, she specializes in working with equestrians of all disciplines. As presidentof the Mind, Body, Horse Connection, she works with competitive and traumatized riders, and has conducted workshops andclinics across the U.S., and in Canada, Bermuda, and Australia. She has worked with therapeutic riding centers,helping volunteers to better partner with their centers' horses. She has presented seminars and poster sessions about herwork with equestrians and their horses at the Association for the Advancement of Sport Psychology and theInternational Sport Psychology Congress. Her research interests are in the areas of trauma, stress management, healthpsychology, animal assisted therapy, and equine facilitated therapy. It is anticipated the program will launch fall 2008.
